Competition Rules
The Blackburn Broadcasting Company Ltd (the Company) stages a number of competitions for a variety of prizes. In general terms the following rules apply unless stated otherwise on air.
1. Competitions shall generally only be open to those who live within The Bee Total Survey Area, as defined by the station.
2. Listeners or households who have won a prize on any programme in the previous 84 days are disqualified from entering subsequent competitions in that period. One entry per household unless otherwise stated.
3. No employees or their families or agents contracted to work for The Bee are eligible to participate in The Bee competitions. This restriction is extended to employees of, or those contracted with, any commercial partners with which the station joins in organising a specific competition.
4. The Bee cannot be held responsible for any difficulty in communicating with the radio station by telephone or other means, or for the non-delivery, delay or loss of any entry. Proof of posting is not acceptable as proof of delivery.
5. In the event of competition entries being judged by the station, the judge's decision shall be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
6. Age limits may apply to certain prizes. Entrants outside such limits will be disqualified. For certain prizes the Company may require that a parent or guardian accompany winners under 18 years of age.
7. All competitions are intended to be fun without the intention of creating legal relations. Entry does not create an enforceable contract.
8. If a competition pledges to award a prize to a randomly selected correct answer, all methods of entry will apply. Those calling on the stations many phone-in lines may not be answered in the order in which they call. Some lines, therefore, may not be answered at all in the process of the competition. All answered calls, received SMS messages and emails will be entered into a random draw, with the winner being announced on air.
9. In the event of the Company receiving more than one correct answer, names shall be entered into a draw and a winner/winners shall be selected as appropriate.
10. The Company reserves the right to announce the names and addresses of competition winners, record and broadcast winner's contributions and supply details of participants to clients of the station for promotional purposes.
11. The Company will notify the winner of the arrangements for collection or delivery of the prize. Any prize not claimed and/or collected within 14 days of first notification shall remain the property of the Company. While the Company will use its best endeavours to ensure that the winner receives the prize within a reasonable period of time it shall not be responsible for any failure to do so.
12. The Company reserves the right to impose additional rules to those stated above, or to amend the rules for specific competitions. The entering of any competition shall be deemed an acceptance of these rules.
13. The Company reserves the right to alter, amend or foreclose the promotion without prior notice.
14. The decision of the Company is final. No correspondence will be entered into concerning the Company's interpretation of the rules.
