Poor Law Records Post 1834
A talk by Elvira Wilmott on the Poor Law Records. In 1834 the Poor Law Unions and their workhouses took over the care of the poor in England and Wales from the Church of England parishes. In 1948 these were replaced by the National Health Care System. This talk should be of interest to anyone who had family in the workhouse and needs help or guidance in their research.

The Hynburn Macmillan Art Fair
The Haworth Art Gallery, home to Europe’s biggest collections of original Tiffany glass, is hosting an Art Fair in conjunction with the Macmillan Hyndburn Committee to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. Admission is FREE and there will be a host of artists displaying their work as well as the chance to win a piece by acclaimed artist Pollyanna Pickering worth £5000. The Art fair will be open 12pm - 4pm on 11th and 12th July 2015 and all are welcome to enjoy a free day out at this beautiful location.

Once Upon a Twisted Tale
Once Upon a Twisted Tale is an abstract take on fairy tales, as well known stories and characters entwine, fuse and untangle through a magical outdoor performance presented by contemporary dancers and live classical musicians.
Performances 12pm, 2pm and 4pm.
